Duisburg

Duisburg is an old industrial city on the Rhine in western Germany. It’s well known for its steel mills, which have been closed down in recent years, leaving the city with a lot of unemployment. There’s not a lot to see in the city centre, but it’s worth a visit to the Landschaftspark, an abandoned steel mill that’s been turned into a park, with a lake, playgrounds and a restaurant. The park is a great place to relax, and it’s free to enter. Duisburg is also a good place to eat. There are lots of restaurants serving international food, as well as traditional German food.
