Azerbaijan

The first wine makers and a cosmopolitan capital.

Azerbaijan is a country located in the eastern part of the Caucasus region, at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. It is bordered by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west, and Iran to the south. They also have an exclave named Nakhchivan. The capital and largest city is Baku.

Azerbaijan has a rich cultural heritage, including a long tradition of carpet-making. The country is also home to the first wine-making region in the world, and the ancient city of Sheki with its beautiful Khans' Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Azerbaijan offers both a rich history and culture with traditional villages and stunning natural scenery, as well as a modern cosmopolitan capital city.

The Azerbaijani cuisine is a blend of influences from the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. It is known for its kebabs, plov (a rice dish cooked with meat and vegetables), and kutabs (a fried turnover filled with meat or vegetables).
