City in 🇻🇳 Vietnam with a population of around 1 million people.

Da Nang is Vietnam’s fourth largest city and the largest city on the country’s central coast. It’s a major transportation hub and a popular tourist destination, renowned for its beaches, rivers, and mountains. The city is home to a number of beautiful temples and pagodas, including the Marble Mountains, and is a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Da Nang is also a great place to enjoy some of Vietnam’s delicious food, with a wide variety of restaurants and street food stalls serving up everything from pho to banh mi.

What people say

I lived in Da Nang for about 3 months, and I have been there for visits both before and after that as well. Da Nang is not very exciting, but it is relaxed and I really like the place! There is a lot of beautiful coastline with great beaches, lots of good food to be found, the city is pretty well-organized compared to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and the people are perhaps the friendliest in Vietnam (and Vietnamese people in other places are already pretty amazing). I can recommend drinking the water from a fresh coconut on the beach, having jellied coconut for dessert in town, starting a day with brunch at Intercontinental Da Nang just for the views, and enjoying an outdoor BBQ restaurant for dinner. Stay either on or around Bach Dang street in town, or closer to the beach. If you go here, make sure to combine Da Nang with neighboring Hoi An which is also a really great place. I have a friend who goes by bicycle from Da Nang to Hoi An almost every day, so it is not very far. And avoid the monsoon season (Sep-Nov).
