Rising above Prague, Petrin Hill is a green sanctuary in the heart of the city, topped by a lookout tower similar to Paris's Eiffel Tower. The hill offers wide views of the city's red roofs and spires, making it a preferred spot for both locals and visitors looking for peacefulness or a place for a picnic.

At its summit, the Petrin Lookout Tower, at 63 meters (206 feet) tall, invites those willing to climb its 299 steps with the reward of beautiful views of Prague. This smaller sibling to the Eiffel Tower was built in 1891 and is a recognized city landmark.

The hill is reachable by funicular railway, also installed in 1891, which provides a less demanding way to get to the top. Paths wind through gardens and orchards, taking visitors by the Štefánik Observatory and the Strahov Monastery. The observatory allows the public to discover the stars through viewings and exhibitions.

The mirror maze is fun for children with its playful reflections, while the Church of St Michael, a wooden church moved from Ukraine, is situated among the trees, offering a look into Slavic history and architecture.

Petrin Hill reflects the seasonal changes, from the fresh new growth of spring to autumn's changing colors. It is also the location of the Memorial to the Victims of Communism, a testament to the country's past.

Petrin Hill is a place for relaxation, education, and remarkable views, just a short trip from Prague's city center.
