Paramaribo is a city on the banks of the Suriname River in Suriname. It is the capital and largest city of Suriname, and is a former Dutch colony. The city is home to the Surinamese diaspora, as well as a large number of immigrants from the Netherlands. The city is home to two universities, the Anton de Kom University of Suriname and the Suriname University of Applied Sciences. The city is also home to the football club S.V. Robinhood.
