Västerås is a small city in central Sweden with a population of just over 110,000. It is located on the shores of Lake Mälaren, about 100 kilometres west of Stockholm. The city is an important commercial and industrial centre, with a number of large companies based there. It is also home to Västerås Cathedral, the largest church in Sweden, and the Västerås Art Museum, which houses a large collection of Swedish art.
Lived here for a few months. Can't really think of anything very positive or negative about this place except that I can't remember a single nice meal. The whole experience was pretty "meh". As pretty much every Swedish city it is pedestrian-friendly, safe, and clean. But then again, I did not find it particularly nice to explore the city nor its parks.
I much prefer the similar-sized city Örebro which is just one hour away by car or train.
