Vršac

Vršac is a small town in the province of Vojvodina, Serbia. It is located on the slopes of the Fruška Gora mountain, near the river Tisa. The town is known for its fortress, which is the largest and best preserved in Serbia. The fortress was built in the 18th century by the Austrians, to protect the border against the Ottoman Empire. Today, the fortress is a popular tourist attraction, and the town is also known for its wine production.
