Valjevo

Valjevo is a small city in western Serbia, located in the valley of the Kolubara River. It is the administrative center of the Valjevo District. The city has a population of 78,521 inhabitants, while the urban area has a population of 136,022 inhabitants. Valjevo is also the home of the Serbian Army's main training center and a significant cultural center in Serbia.

The city is surrounded by mountains: the Tara to the west, the Kozara to the north, and the Rudnik to the south. It is also located at the intersection of two important roads, the E75 and E661. These roads connect the city with the rest of Serbia and the rest of Europe.

The city is best known for the Battle of Kolubara, which was fought just outside the city in December 1914. Valjevo was also the birthplace of Marshal Tito, the first president of Yugoslavia.
