Panama

Panama is a country located in Central America, bordered by Costa Rica to the west, Colombia to the east, the Caribbean Sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. The capital and largest city is Panama City, and the official language is Spanish.

Panama is a popular tourist destination because of its tropical climate, its beaches, its rainforests and its biodiversity. The Panama Canal, which connects the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, is also a major attraction. Panama is the only place in the world where you can see the sun rise on the Pacific Ocean and set on the Atlantic Ocean.

The cuisine of Panama is a blend of African, Native American, Spanish and Caribbean influences. Common dishes include sancocho (a soup made with chicken, beef or fish), tamales (corn dough wrapped in banana leaves), arroz con pollo (chicken and rice) and empanadas (fried or baked pastries filled with meat, cheese or vegetables).
