Niger

Niger is a large landlocked country in West Africa. It is bordered by Libya to the northeast, Chad to the east, Nigeria to the south, Benin to the southwest, Burkina Faso to the southwest, and Mali to the northwest. The country's name comes from the Niger River, which runs through the country. Niger is a largely desert country with very hot temperatures. The capital city is Niamey.

Niger is home to a diverse range of ethnic groups, including the Hausa, the Fulani, the Tuareg, the Kanuri, and the Arabs. French is the official language, but many Nigeriens also speak Hausa, Fulani, or other local languages. Islam is the dominant religion.

The country has a rich cultural heritage. There are a number of interesting historical sites, such as the medieval city of Agadez, the ancient city of Djado, and the rock art site of Tassili n'Ajjer. Niger is also home to a number of national parks, including the W National Park, which is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, and hippos.

The country has a variety of dishes, such as thieboudienne (a rice and fish dish), yassa (a chicken and onion dish), and maafe (a meat and vegetable stew).
