Palanga is a resort town on the Baltic Sea in Lithuania. It's known for its wide, sandy beach, numerous spa resorts and pine forests. The town's pedestrianized main street, Bernardo Street, is lined with cafes, bars and souvenir shops. The former fisherman's village of Klaipėda, now Palanga's port, is home to the Frank Zappa statue and a lively nightlife. To the north, the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a peninsula of sand dunes, pine forests and wetlands.
