Basseterre

Destroyed many times, but keeps coming back!

Basseterre, the capital of Saint Kitts and Nevis, is a small, sleepy town that belies its rich history. Once an important British colony, the town is home to a number of Georgian and Victorian-era buildings, including the impressive St. George's Anglican Church and the well-preserved Fort Charles. The city's most famous landmark, however, is the distinctive golden dome of the St. Kitts Parliament Building. The town's market square is a great place to people-watch, and you can enjoy a cold drink on the porch of one of the local pubs while taking in the view.
