Miskolc

Miskolc is an old city in the northeast of Hungary, situated on the banks of the river Sajó. It is the most important city of the Northern Great Plain region and the county seat of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county. The city has a population of 159,000.

Miskolc is a city with a rich history. It was first mentioned in historical records in 1235. The city played an important role in the Hungarian Revolution of 1848. Miskolc was the site of the last battle of the revolution, which took place on 6 October 1849.
