Brač is a small, sleepy island in the Adriatic Sea, off the coast of Croatia. With a population of just over 10,000, the island is a far cry from the bustling tourist resorts of neighbouring Hvar and Korčula. That’s not to say that there’s nothing to do on Brač – far from it. The island is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Adriatic, as well as a number of excellent restaurants and wine bars. There are also a number of interesting historical sights, including the ancient Roman town of Solin and the fortified town of Klis. Brač is well connected to the mainland, with regular ferries running from Split.
