Mykonos is one of the most famous and cosmopolitan of the Greek islands, with a lively nightlife, stunning beaches, and a rugged interior. The main town, Mykonos Town (or Hora), is a labyrinth of narrow streets and whitewashed houses with brightly painted doors and window frames. It’s a great place to wander around, people-watch, and soak up the atmosphere. There are also several good museums, including the Archaeological Museum and the Folklore Museum. Or head to the port, where you can catch a ferry to other islands or to the mainland. Mykonos is also famous for its beaches, which are some of the best in Greece. Paradise Beach is the most popular, but there are plenty of others to choose from.
