Roseau is the capital and largest city of Dominica. It is a compact and colourful town, with a lively market, interesting colonial architecture and a relaxed Caribbean atmosphere. The city is set on a narrow valley stretching between the Caribbean Sea and the Morne Trois Pitons National Park. There are several small beaches in and around Roseau, and the city is a good base for exploring the rest of the island.
