Djibouti

Djibouti is a melting pot of cultures and religions, with influences from Africa, the Middle East and Europe. The capital, Djibouti City, is a coastal town with a mix of French and Arabic architecture. The city is home to the country’s main port and the Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport. The country is flanked by Ethiopia to the west and Somalia to the east.

Djibouti is a dry and largely barren country, with little vegetation and few rivers. The exception is the Lake Assal, the lowest point in Africa and the world’s saltiest lake. Despite the harsh environment, the country is home to a variety of animals, including Somali wild asses, Dorcas gazelles and Arabian Oryx. Djibouti is also a popular destination for scuba diving, with its clear waters and coral reefs.
