Town in 🇩🇪 Germany with a population of around 20 thousand people.

Torgau is a sleepy riverside town in the eastern German state of Saxony-Anhalt, best known as the place where the final battle of the Second World War was fought. The town was heavily bombed in the final days of the conflict, but has been painstakingly restored and is now a popular tourist destination, thanks to its well-preserved Renaissance and baroque architecture, and the excellent museums documenting the town’s long and colourful history. There’s also a lively cultural scene, with a range of festivals and events throughout the year, and plenty of restaurants and bars to enjoy after a day of sightseeing. Torgau is a great place to slow down and enjoy a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
