Bocholt is a small city in western Germany, located in the Bundesland of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is best known for its textile industry, although these days the city is trying to promote itself as a cultural center as well. The city has a well-preserved medieval center, and the Gothic St. Martin's Church is a major tourist attraction. There are also a few parks and a few museums, as well as a large number of restaurants and pubs. Bocholt is a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area, which is mostly rural and picturesque.
