Karviná

Karviná is a mining town in the Czech Republic, located in the Moravian-Silesian Region. It is situated on the Oder River. The town has a population of about 76,000. Mining has been an important part of the town's economy since the Middle Ages. The town is home to the Karviná coal mine, one of the largest coal mines in Europe.
